Adrian Boorman, Countertenor
Biography
|
Adrian’s early life was spent in Pinner, Middlesex and at a very early age, given the choice of singing or scouting, he opted to join the large Parish Church Choir as a probationer treble. Serving a long and happy musical apprenticeship, he quickly developed a passion for the English Choral Tradition and, thanks to a voice which steadfastly refused to break, became treble Head Chorister at the ripe old age of 16. In his spare time, (of which he has little) and with support of his ever patient wife, Adrian indulges his passion for flying light aircraft, and malt whisky. “There can be few who would doubt the role that music plays in all our lives”, Adrian wrote in his preface to the Wayfaring Stranger concert programme which he produced. “....and its ability to reach out and touch something deep within our consciousness. I count myself so fortunate to work alongside some fine musicians and study under gifted teachers. Without them my own musical journey of discovery would never have begun. With them, I hope it will never end.” |
